Our Finance Administrator, Jake, has passed his Level 3 AAT in Diploma in Accounting.
Jake started working with Alwayse three years ago and completed his Level 2 AAT apprenticeship in Accounts and Finance Assistant.
Over the past three years, Jake has become a valuable member of the team. His day-to-day role involves working with suppliers, making payments, working on credit control, supplier statements, etc.
Jake has always loved numbers, so it’s no surprise that he chose this career.
“Because I was good at Maths when I was younger, everything is numerical, so things make sense when working. I know what I’m doing, and I understand what I’m doing.
“Before joining Alwayse, I was a part-time insurance broker for around six months.
“It was an admin role, ensuring things went out on time.
“It was ideal. I didn’t want to come home and sit and do nothing, and it gave me some good work experience.”
Jake says that Alwayse has always been supportive and flexible around his course.
“I get a day release every one to two weeks so I can study for my exams. It’s useful because it means that studying and coursework doesn’t take up all my time outside work. Once I get home, I can completely switch off.
“As exams get closer, I will start using more of my time towards studying, but it doesn’t feel too stressful because of the day release.
“I don’t always know my exact schedule for my lessons either. For example, I had a week off work, and when I came back, I found out I had two live lessons that week. I spoke to Tanya, and she arranged for me to have my day release early.”
Jake was drawn to Alwayse because his dad was also team members. He says:
“I liked having him there because it helped me settle into the team a lot quicker.
“Everyone knew my name when I first started; it didn’t feel like I was a stranger.
“Now my mom works there too.
“I get on with everyone here. I don’t worry about talking to or working with anyone I dislike. There’s a nice culture.”

Tanya, Jakes manager says:
“It’s challenging at times because it requires additional time and investment, but watching him grow, pass his exams, and get better at the role makes it worth it.
“I treat his success as my success. I really enjoy working with him. He loves coming to work and he brings up the vibes in our little department.
“I’m very proud of him.”
Please join us in celebrating Jake’s achievement. We will continue to support Jake as he starts his Level 4 apprenticeship.
