THE CHALLENGE
NOV Elmar is an oil and gas company, specialising in the design and manufacture of wireline pressure control equipment. As part of its oil and gas exploration, cameras are utilised in pipes to check for leaks. However, rollers can only move the cameras up and down, restricting vision. NOV Elmar approached Alwayse to design and manufacture a solution to provide 360° vision.
THE SMART SOLUTION
Alwayse designed and manufactured a Custom Ball Transfer Unit that enabled the camera to rotate, as well as move up and down (a 2 Axis movement solution). vision. A silicon nitride ball and special seal was used to protect against the harsh downpipe conditions, preventing the ingress of dirt and other contaminants.
