THE CHALLENGE
The Weatherite Group is the country’s leading HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) company. It traditionally relied on forklifts and overhead cranes to assemble units at a single workstation. This lack of capacity meant:
- Quoted lead times of 20-24 weeks
- An inefficient process due to significant downtime
- High costs to the Weatherite Group.
Improvements to the assembly process were urgently required and Alwayse were contacted to provide the solution.
THE SMART SOLUTION
Alwayse designed and manufactured a large multi-station Ball Deck, with individual workstations to improve process flow, assembly times and reduce the risk of staff injury. Air conditioning units can now be manually manoeuvred to each station for assembly with minimal effort, reducing the need for forklifts and cranes. The system created separate production cells, enabling an increase in capacity across the organisation, as each individual could be self-sufficient, eliminating downtime.
A cool idea that allows easy movement by any engineer.
AT A GLANCE
- Precise movement of units up to 10 tonnes between different workstations.
- 10 times increase in capacity, eliminating waiting time – reducing costs.
- Green solution – no power source required.
- Reduction in usage of overhead cranes & Forklift Trucks.
- Low maintenance solution.
