The esteemed Insider Media Made in the Midlands Awards were held on Thursday, 25th April. It was an amazing celebration of the innovation and talent that permeates throughout the Midlands. We were shortlisted for two awards.
Our fantastic apprentice Jake Whittle was nominated for Apprentice of the Year. Whereas Alwayse were nominated for the Manufacturing Future Talent award. Congratulations to all those who were shortlisted and emerged victorious! It was clear to see the breadth of skill and innovation on offer throughout many different industries in the Midlands. A fantastic night!
Amidst this celebration, it’s essential to turn our attention to the future of manufacturing and engineering. Few assets are as crucial as capable, innovative, and well-trained personnel. Herein lies the pivotal role of apprentices: they infuse fresh perspectives and talent into the heart of any organisation. But particularly within the manufacturing industry.
Apprentices Are The Lifeblood of Alwayse
At Alwayse Engineering, we recognize the paramount importance of apprentices as the lifeblood of industry. Moreover, we take immense pride in nurturing their skills. With over 80 years of experience, we are committed to providing an environment that fosters the growth and development of tomorrow’s industry leaders.
Let’s take a moment to hear directly from some of our exceptional apprentices, as they share their thoughts on the value of apprenticeships and the indelible impact of training and mentorship at Alwayse Engineering:
Regular Communication
“When I was an apprentice my experience was pretty positive, I’d usually get asked regularly about how my apprenticeship was going and making sure that I was getting everything I needed out of it, now I’m no longer an apprentice I’m enjoying working here the people here are great and they are always sending me on various training courses and stuff.”

The Right Support and Training
“My experience at Alwayse has been good and I’ve always had support and help when asked for it. They have helped me with my job by funding new equipment, making the fabrication area bigger and easier to work in.”

Striking The Right Balance
“I feel that I have progressed significantly during my time at Alwayse and the apprenticeship route has enabled me to balance my work duties alongside my studies. The company has offered me plenty of support and guidance to assist with my development.”

We need to build upon the great legacy of innovation throughout the Midlands. A legacy that Alwayse are proud to be a part of.
