THE CHALLENGE
Since establishment in 1957, Magnetic Shields Limited (MSL) have been world leaders in the design and manufacture of magnetic shielding solutions. This is where equipment sometimes requires isolation from external magnetic fields, in industries such as medical research, electric automotive, aerospace, high-end audio and many more. With such varied and technical clients, MSL pride themselves on delivering the highest level of service and quality. To achieve this level of quality and service all of MSL’s manufacturing processes are integrated into their UK facility, where they strive to operate at the highest levels of productivity and quality, without sacrificing the health and safety of their workers. For a new product line, Alwayse were tasked with creating a solution that would enable efficient manufacturing within a limited footprint. The aim was to create a solution to remove the need for manual handling whilst also speeding-up the production process.
THE SMART SOLUTION
Alwayse designed and manufactured a custom live-dead ball table that allows workers to move heavy loads with ease. The table allows for a single operator to rotate and re-position material before locking it into place, enabling Magnetic Shields to increase throughput and improve the quality of the finished components. This resulted in a 50% reduction in the manufacturing time. Not only that, but Magnetic Shields could incorporate precision equipment, such as drills, within the table itself, saving vital space in the plant.
