THE CHALLENGE
HGG provides cutting-edge, fully automated 3D profiling machines that give fabricators the freedom to create, craft and construct. Particularly within the shipbuilding industry, where many have switched to an automated cutting process and HGG, known for their innovation, needed to deliver.
Their customised tube cutting machine required much more than the standard forwards / backwards motion, as this creates too much waste product and increases not only the time taken to complete projects, but the physical strain placed on the workforce when it comes to resetting the machine. Especially for clients like ship-builders, where the product is heavy steel pipes.
Could Alwayse provide a movement solution that allowed for full 360° movement in a single set-up?
THE SMART SOLUTION
Our solution uses Ball Transfer Units fixed to the surface of the machine with 6 V-shape handling arms. Now all weights, sizes and lengths of tubes can be rotated and moved in any direction. An Alwayse Ball Transfer Unit offers:
- Smooth, efficient movement with little effort and great precision.
- No need to change machinery or tools.
- An increase to efficiency by cutting downtime dramatically.
Complicated 3D profiling made easy through fully automated cutting machines and made possible by Ball Transfer Units.
Another innovative movement solution from Alwayse.
